NOTES FROM PIPEY'S CORNER
END OF AN ERA - NOT QUITE YET!
DON'T FORGET TO VISIT OUR BOOTH AT THE PLEASANTON GAMES AUGUST 30 & 31 IN THE YOUNG CALIFORNIA BUILDING SPACE 28
Sharp & Co. is still up and running - but for how long is anyone's guess. And yes, this column is really late, I've been trying to get everything done for Pleasanton and it just got away from me. There's still a lot to do, and my back has been killing me lately, so my two stalwart assistants, Dexter and Jamie, will be doing all the heavy lifting next week...oy.
I did spend a week in SB for my b-day, yes, the big SIX-OH looms in the future. Christ, this getting old business is for the birds but it still beats the alternative. You don't appreciate good health until it's a thing of the past. When you're young and stupid you don't think you'll ever have anything wrong, then you get ulcers, kidney stones, bad shoulders, bad knees, bad back, and to top it off, blood sugar problems - SHIT! But enough about me....
As shipments arrive, we have to reprice some things - Ross and MacLeod books are going way up - haven't repriced them in ten years. New stuff from Shetland Jewellers, we'll have a new page up after Pleasanton to replace the now-defunct Ola Gorie line. Again, new Highland Dress prices are updated on the kilts pages. but we're trying to keep most changes down to a dull roar. No new hose or ghillie prices, but we can't get the cheap buckle brogues any more. Just be glad you don't have to go through military tailors - the price of a new #2 Service Dress jacket for the RRS is 785 POUNDS....
BLACK PART will be judging at Pleasanton, and we look forward to hearing HIS take on the Games next month!
